Izzy’s FROZEN themed birthday party!
It’s finally taken me almost an entire year, but as long as I got it published by her 4th birthday, it still counts.
FROZEN Themed Birthday Party: Izzy’s 3rd birthday
One fun fact about me is that I love to plan parties! From choosing the theme to the fine details. It’s something that I enjoy and brings me joy! Although, it can be stressful during the process leading up to the party/event, I still enjoy it.
Izzy has been loving everything FROZEN since last august. She told me that for her 3rd birthday, she wanted a “Elsa birthday party!” Of course, I got so excited and started researching ideas via Pinterest! This year I told myself that I was going to take it “easy” and not over do it! Guys, this is me “not over doing it”. Haha!
The birthday party
It was a rainy Saturday but I had pre-made majority of the snacks and cakes the night before. This helps with putting all the food items together the next day without too much stress. (Also, I had the huge help from my mom and my sister-in-law!) I started decorating a couple of days before the birthday (I think Wednesday or Thursday?) This was the 3rd party that I put together for Izzy, so I knew what spaces work best for the ‘flow’ of the party and decorations.
All the decorations were purchased from Amazon. This helps keep it low cost but still keep with the theme of the FROZEN colors. I think it looks cleaner to have just a few “themed” items and then keep with the same colors. That way you can use your imagination to see it all together.
We had planned on have a huge bounce house for her and her friends to jump in but unfortunately it was a rainy Saturday, so we had to improvise! Fortunately for us, Joe was able to borrow a mini-bounce house from a friend that we were able to use inside the house. It was so funny seeing a bounce house inside my house!
I decided that it would add to the ‘winter wonderland’ look with a fun white tree decorated with all things ‘frozen themed’ items, such as icicles, snowflakes and Elsa
Food is definitely the best and fun part of the party. So of course, why not make it themed to the Frozen Party!
Olaf’s Nose and Arms & Reindeer snacks (apples/grapes/strawberries)
Elsa’s Frozen Tower
This tower was easy to make. All you need is a foam tower from any craft store (I think I got a 24 inch one, but you can definitely get a smaller one). I wrapped it in aluminum foil and stuck toothpicks in the foam and them placed the doughnut in the toothpick. I used white powder doughnut balls (about over 80 doughnuts…maybe more).
Snow flake cheeses and deli meat
I thought this was a fun idea to add to the ‘Frozen’ theme and easy. I got a small snowflake cookie cutter and placed it on sliced cheeses and deli meat.
Frozen Sweet Treats
Kristoff’s Frozen Ice
I used blue berry jello (I was lucky to find actual frozen/jello brand flavor) and fun snow flake shaped marshmallows. I add more “snow” by adding a spray of whipped cream.
Frozen Cake & Cupcakes
Izzy’s cake was pretty easy to make. I used a White Velvet Cake recipe and used ‘Frozen’ blue that I added to the mixture. The cake toppers where purchased from Amazon, along with the blue rock candies. My mom made the cupcake covers.
I love doing a candy bar as a way to say ‘Thank you’ to all our friends that attended the party. The table clothes came from Amazon as well as the icicle back ground. I purchased all the glass containers from Marshall’s/Homegoods/TJMaxx.
Izzy had a blast at her 3rd birthday party! She enjoyed every minute of it and told me it was “the best party every!!!”
