I wanted to share a fun outfit that can transition into fall. Right now, it may be August and a bit hot. What makes a great trasitional outfit work for warmer weather is by sticking with fall color schemes. This way, you look “fall-ish” without the thicker layers.
Stick with Fall Colors
Here in Houston, fall won’t show up until possibly early November. That means wearing bulky sweaters and multiple layers will be on hold until them. But in the mean time, I generally wear clothing that fit the ‘fall color’ scheme. Those colors are burgundy, mustard yellow, and army green.
By sticking to this main color palate, I can wear outfits that are suitable for hot weather with also giving the illusion that it feels like “fall” with my color choices.
Shoes are a fun way to help transition into the summer-fall season. Right now, booties are a great choice for making a summer outfit look “fall-ish”. Transitional booties can take a cute summer look into a fall look with a switch of the shoes.
There are many booties that have peep toe or braiding on the bootie that give it a fall look but with a warmer weather feel. Below are some of my favorite booties that will help with the fall look!
Lovely in Pleated Skirt
Now I wanted to talk about my outfit! This skirt is just so fun and so me; Pink! I recently purchased it from Target. It is a great piece for the cost! It has a lining underneath, which is great for those breeze days. I would say it is true to size. I’m wearing a XS.
Here are some of my other favorite pleated skirts:
My top is also from Target and it was a fun find! I bought it because I loved the burgundy color and the fun floral patterns. When I got it, it had more color in the floral design which got me excited because of the endless possibilities with this top! It also has little fun tassels on the sides of this top.
My shoes are from JCPenney and so comfy! I have another pair in white, which I wore all day long with no problems. The fun part is that they come in so many colors, making so hard to choose which ones to get!
I’m wearing a 9.5 in my shoes, which is my normal size. So they do run true to size.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this was so helping in styling transitional outfits for the fall!
Have a LOVELY day!
