So I wanted to share my anniversary weekend with you guys!
Last weekend (April 20-22) Joe and I went up to Dallas as a fun getaway for our wedding anniversary! We were celebrating 8 years of marriage! It was such a fun time for both of us, not really having plans other then eating yummy food!
We chose Dallas as our weekend getaway because that is where we began to dating. A year later, we married there as well. So Dallas, Uptown specifically, holds a special place in our hearts.
Our reception was held at Arlington Hall at Oak Lawn Park, which was our dream wedding! It was held during the afternoon, on a beautiful spring day! I feel like everyone had an amazing time and it definitely was a beautiful and my favorite wedding by far! (Ok, I may be a little bias, but I’m being truthful 😉)
So it was only fitting that we visited Arlington Hall before leaving! And of course, to take blog pictures! Haha! The park is beautiful on its own during a nice sunny day! We’ve taken Izzy there when she was 9 months old, which was so fun for us.
I just love revisiting this area of Dallas and walking down memory lane. It was such a special time for us during our early year of our relationship and later our marriage ceremony.
Crocheted Lace Dress
Ok, lets talk about this adorable dress!
It’s a fun shift dress from Loft that is a great spring basic! I love the shift style because it a comfortable fit. My favorite part is the fun flutter sleeves. It add texture to the dress which is the best part. With my type of body frame (inverted triangle…yes, that is a thing! Or otherwise called ‘athletic body type’), it makes my shoulder look smaller and lengthen my torso. I am wearing a XXS in the dress and it fits great. I generally wear most to all things from LOFT in XXS because I’m very petite in the chest.

I paired it with my favorite shoes this spring! They are from Old Navy and they are actually very comfortable! This season was the first time that Old Navy started carried 1/2 sizing in the shoes, which was a game changer! I am a true 9.5 and I could never wear most of their high heel shoes because they were either too big or too small. Now I can get most shoes in my regular size and they fit comfortably! I love the white broad straps on the shoes, which gives it a slimming look to your feet. White is such a popular color for spring and summer and great with any outfit.

Have a Lovely day!
