It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything! I’ve been so busy with life (garage sale/spring cleaning) that I put my blog on the back burner.
But I’m back and I have a fun outfit to share with you guys!
I also wanted to talk about how I shop on a B-U-D-G-E-T. (my scary word)
Shopping on a Budget
So, this is one of the areas that I have made a great commitment at the beginning of the year that I would try to stick to!
I love to bargain shop! It’s just one of those fun things that I just love to do! If I can find amazing items for low prices, them I super excited! Then I will tell the entire world about it! “Oh, you like my shoes! Thank you! I got them at __ on super sale for like $!!” And I will go on and on….well you get it. It’s just something that I get so excited about! It’s like a treasure hunt for me!
Well, then there is the down side of that…I will then go and buy every single color of that style that is on sale only because it is on sale…then making it not a great deal. Then lead to just stuffing my closet with unnecessary items and causing me to just get rid of them later on in the year. (vicious cycle)
Well, that is one of the things that I promised myself I would do better this year. That I would still stick to my bargain shopping but only buy things that really make me happy rather then just buying them because they are on sale. (which I did…A LOT!!) Also get things that I know I would use often and be able to mix with other items that I currently have in my closet.
I also have an allowed budgeted amount that I try to stick to each month. This is a huge struggle for me but I am working at it really hard and trying my best to stick with it. Budgeting is not my strong point at all and I think God that He paired me with the best person has great discipline and is strong in this area.
It’s important to stick to a budget, especially myself, when shopping or anything really. It keeps you grounded and accountable for the things you bring in. It also keeps you on track on the items you purchase or if you want to save to get a bigger ticket item.
I feel that fashion doesn’t have to be all about high-end designer items. I feel that you can look and feel your best at any price point as long as you feel confident and beautiful in what you are wearing. Yes, I do have some “designer” items but they are mostly mixed with a lot of TJMaxx or Ross for less items as well. As long as you find a perfect balance, you will definitely show it through your style and smile!
Now to the outfit! This is one of those affordable outfits that looks like I paid a lot! Recently, I have been shopping at JCPenney for many of my trendy fashion pieces. I am loving so many new and fun trends this spring and summer but like most trends, they fade. So, instead of paying top dollar for an item that I will be using a couple of times, why not spend less for it. (at least that is my motto)
JCPenney has been doing an amazing job this season with bring in items that are similar to the more expensive fashion items, but for a lower price point. And to tell you the truth, they look exactly the same!
The linen pants are fun and comfy. I am wearing an XS and they fit great! They will stretch out a lot since they are linen maternal so I’d recommend sizing down one size. The floral embroidered tee is also an XS and fit perfectly. The shoes are from Loft but last season. I got them on super sale during one of their summer sales. My clutch is from Target WhoWhatWear. I got it two years ago at 70% off (I believe it was $8). My earrings were a gift from my mom, but I’m sure she found them at a great deal!
