Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! I know mine was and it was nice to just sit around and do nothing.
So today, I wanted to share with you about one of my big passions…loves…hobbies…whatever you want to call it, I love to shop! Ok, what woman doesn’t? But since becoming a mom, it is hard to head out to the store and browse through the endless sales racks and score some great deals! (Guys, I am a bargain shopper and I love it whenever I can get something under $10!)
First it’s the hour before, trying to get ready to go to the store (mostly trying to chase down my toddler), then packing up the car (whenever she was a baby it was basically everything but the kitchen sink!). Next I have to keep her entertained at the stores or she’s go full blown toddler on me; yelling, screaming, crying…you know, the sounds you don’t want to hear while out…Yep! That my child!
But now I do most of my shopping online, and it is easier then ever before! (Disclaimer, don’t show this to my husband!!!) I allows me to shop for cute pieces and have them shipped to my house without having to mess with the whole routine to get out of the house! The bonus side is that I can still score great deals! (Well, here is where you have to be patient to wait for those sales!)
My go to places are Ann Taylor LOFT, Target, J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Nordstrom (or anywhere where they do free shipping and free returns!). They usually will carry my size and the shipping time frame is not too bad, about a week or so. On my days out (mom free time), I’ll go to the stores and checkout items and try them on to see how the looks and feels (is that weird that I like to feel what the clothing “feels like” before buying?) then generally wait until it goes on sale (Win!!)
Like I said before, I’m a stay at home mom but that doesn’t mean that I have to live in yoga pants and basic tees forever! (well, some time I do, but that’s another story) I want to dress nice to help with my self-esteem and also to make me feel happy! Do you notice Mama that if you take the effort to do something for yourself, you are usually happier and more loving towards your family? I know I am! So dressing up and making the effort to look nice is something that I like to do to help me be a better wife and mother.
So I’ve rounded up some of my favorite things that I love and hopefully you love too! I live in Houston and it is hot…like humid sticky HOT! So I like to find pieces that are comfortable and that can breath…and that are mom approved!
I love this outfit! Ok, give me all the scallops PLEASE!! As you will see, I’m a sucker for anything scalloped! This top is a nice cotton material and not see-through which is a win in my book! And there is a cute bow on the back!!
This yellow, white, and blue outfit just screams SUMMER!! I love yellow and how it makes me feel calm and relaxed! This is such an easy outfit to just wear around while doing errands or going out! I absolutely love the lemons on these shorts and makes me want to get a lemonade! The top is a bit on the sheer side but nothing a nice little light weight tank won’t fix!
So this is a nice casual outfit and love this pink top! It’s a great find from Target. The trend this summer, if you haven’t already noticed, is the cold shoulder or off the shoulder tops. Well, sometime those really don’t work that great when you have a toddler, and possibly pulling your shirt down…in public. Well, what is great about this top is that you can wear it both ways! Up or of the shoulders! And…it doesn’t creep up like most off the shoulder shirts do! Mommy approved shirt! These shorts are summer comfortable and they are from a store that I used to shop at when I was 18 years old…Abercrombie and Fitch (ok, insert embarrassed emoji here). They restructured their brand and they actually have really cute things and for a great price!
This top is so nice and airy, which is perfect for the Houston summer! And you can dress it up or keep it casual! Also, has some pink in it! (You’ll start to see a trend here…PINK!) The shorts are the same scalloped shorts from above just in white. They are a linen material and the scallops actually stay in place! (I’ve had some that tend to fold over).
Ok…This is such a “I’m going to a fiesta” top! I love that it’s pink and the embroidery detail is so pretty! There are bows placed on each side of the shoulder. This is a great piece to really make you feel like you are ready to party!!!
This is a nice outfit that I usually go to for a nice family outing or dinner. The skirt is not too short but also not to long (I’m 5″4′ for reference) and great for a day out. This top is super cute and has great floral eyelet details on the front and on the back!
This top is super cute and love the detail embroidery with the ruffle sleeves. It’s a chambray material so very nice and airy for the summer. These jeans are probably one of the most fun jeans I own! I love the floral detail on each side of the pant legs and it’s not too overly done! These shoes are my favorite statement shoes! They are from J.Crew Factory and love the diamond statement! I wear a size 9.5 in most shoes but had to size down to a 9 with these, which fit nicely.
This dress is so gorgeous! I love the little tassels on the top and the criss-cross pattern on the back! Usually I don’t wear too many maxi dresses because they tend to be too long, but this one is just the right length! This is such an effortless dress to put on and actually make a statement! This is my go to date night outfit!
Thank you guys so much for stopping by! If you have any questions about what I’m wearing, let me know in the comments below! Also, I’d like to hear what outfits you like to wear in the summer!
Talk to you guys later!
